Back to Kid's Church - TEMPTATION(Lent 1)

The children need to know that Jesus can help them stop doing things that are wrong.

Today's selected reading: Luke 4: 1-13
Kids Church Talk:
· What does temptation mean? (Explain)
· Temptation is something that happens to us all. Mums and Dads as well.
· Sometimes people are tempted (or a little voice in their head tells them) to steal.
· If we want to be like Jesus, then we have to be strong.
· The devil tried to make Jesus do things he knew were wrong.
· But Jesus was strong and wouldn't take any notice of the devil.
· When we feel tempted to do things that are wrong, we are very lucky as a Christian.
· We can ask Jesus to help us not to do anything wrong. We can ask him to make us strong so we won't let him down or disappoint him.
· If we want Jesus to be our friend, then we must try, not to let him down.
· Tonight before you go to sleep, ask Mum or Dad to say a special prayer with you thanking Jesus for allowing you to be Jesus special friend.

What you need to get ready:
Make a box the same size as the picture and have a border at least 1-2 cm high to contain the sand for the desert scene. Half the size of a shoe box top would be ideal. Sand. Glue and stapler to complete the box. Have a few large stones and a number of smaller ones scattered over the sand.
Paste the figures and the backdrop onto cardboard making the base of the figures a little deeper (Same depth as the sides). This will allow you to place the figures in the sand to make them self standing.
