• How good are you at sharing? What sort of things do you share?
• You and I live in a very selfish world, and it is not only kids that are very selfish. Many young people and adults as well.
• Mum and Dad will be teaching you to treat other people with respect and kindness, but you will see many other children who are just plain rude and selfish and seemingly not taught the basics.
• God is telling the prophet Isaiah in the reading today that if people treat others badly, then they must change their ways if they are to be accepted by God
• God is always prepared to forgive us for what we do wrong, but we must always be prepared to change our ways and to say sorry first.
• God's standards are very high and only those who listen and accept God's rules and way of life can become part of His family.
• To be part of any family requires accepting certain responsibilities
• Things like respect for your parents, helping out around the house when asked etc
•Then God will look down on you and say "There is ....... and I am proud to have him/her as a member of my Christian family.

Activity:
"I will follow Jesus" on a sheet of paper and draw simple illustrations, if you wish, of ways children can follow Jesus. Photocopy a paper for each child.
Wash the bottles and remove their labels.
Fill the bottles partly with sand or gravel.
Glue on the lids.
Give each child a picture to color and cut out.
Show them how to glue the picture to the bottle.

Require: Plastic litre soft drink bottle and lid (1 per child) sand or tiny pebbles such as fish tank gravel, funnel, crayons, scissors, glue. |
