Kid's Church talk
* Has there ever been a time when you have ever needed help from someone? (Discuss)
* We all need to know there is someone on hand that will assist us in a time of need.
* Eg: The police - We often just take them for granted
The SES or FIRE-BRIGADE - Our homes just would not be safe without their assistance
* Sadly not everyone will come to the assistance of some people when they have a need - It may be their colour, or    nationality.
* This is what happened in the case of the Good Samaritan (Explain how a Samaritan, hated by the Jews, actually    stopped and helped a Jew when other Jews just walked by)
* We are asked by Jesus to look out for our neighbours and to assist them where possible.
* Today we are going to check out the local Fire-brigade and see how they are "Good Samaritans" to people.
* Can you suggest some of the ways they are Good Samaritans? (Cats in trees, Fire victims etc)

Kids Church Activity:
Flannel Graph for the Gospel Story in lieu of being read. Today’s theme about helping our neighbour. Eg: Fire brigade being a good Samaritan in saving Mrs Blogg's cat from a tree where it had been for days.

What you need to get ready:
To enquire from the local SES (State Emergency Service or fire brigade) if they could come and speak at the service and bring a tender for the children to check over. If this is not possible, to see about arranging a bus to transport the children during the service to go to the fire-brigade headquarters.
