Easter Day

Today's selected reading: – Easter Sunday Reading

Kids Address
• Did any of you go on an Easter Egg Hunt this morning? (Discuss)
• My children seemed to find the Easter Bunny was most understanding and put the eggs on a nest but often in very strange places - In the garden, under a bush and even in a tree.
• Of course you know the reason for the Egg as I know you understand no bunny could have laid it. That the egg complete reminds us of Jesus in the tomb, and when the egg is broken, that he has broken free.
• But also in today's story we read of the women who went on a hunt. They had gone to the tomb only to find that the rock had been rolled aside.
• They them went on a hunt. Not for Easter eggs, but for the body of Jesus.
• At that stage they did not realise that he had risen from the dead and was alive.
• This story also reminds us that when we die (as a Christian), we come back to life in another world we call Heaven. - But don't worry. That will most likely be when you are an elderly grandpa or grandma and be about 100 years old.
• So in the meantime, you have lots of wonderful living to do living your life as a Christian. Loving God and all those around you.
• Today to celebrate that Jesus is alive and well in all of us and that we are to show that love for we have for Jesus, to others

Kids Church Activity:
Have the children create an Easter Garden during the service whilst the adults are receiving a sermon.
This could be a real creative event and the following suggestions are offered.

What you need to get ready:
: • Have the congregation bring along a pot plant or greenery (with their name on the bottom of the pot)
• See if you can borrow a three stage fibre glass waterfall with a pump (This would need to be set up prior to the service and filled and tested.
• Black plastic to protect the floor
• Chip bark to fill in the holes and make the display more impressive.
• Small Easter eggs for an Easter Egg Hunt.

Additional Lent ideas can be found in the Catalogue section of previous material - The link is at the top of the opening page for Kids Church.
