God's Gifts - Ballet Service

“Ballet Service”

Today's selected reading: – 2 Samuel 6: 14 - 18

Kids Address
• Does your Mum and Dad ever go dancing? (Discuss)
• What about you - Have you ever gone dancing and if so what does it feel like (Discuss)
• Dancing is many things to many people - A sport when undertaken professionally, a hobby, like the girls at the Allegro Ballet School who are here with us today, as exercise and maybe even to get closer to a special girl. Well, that is assuming you dance some of the old time dances where you get closer to your partner.
• In today's reading a man called David was a very high up man. In fact a King.
• He loved dancing as it was his way to feel free and he gave thanks to God for all he did for him. He even got really carried away and finished up dancing in his undies.
• When you feel really free, and just happy to prance around enjoying the moment, that is how David felt when they brought in the special box which contained the 10 commandments (Discuss)
• Today you are going to dance and shout also as you learn a new song to perform later on inn the service.

• Just like the ballet girls who love to dance and perform. We too are going to give thanks that God is our special friend and we are joyful that he loves us so much.
• When we dance around later on, we will be doing this to show we love God and that he is special to us in our everyday life.
