Kids Address

• What sort of things are you proud of (Discuss)
• It could be you are proud to be the son or daughter of your Mum and Dad, especially if they have been cited for something special. Maybe an Australia Day award
• Maybe you feel proud when some-one tells you what a great job you are doing at school, at sport or similar
• Today around the building we have an Australian flag and Australian colours in various forms - banners, balloons , decorations etc
• One day you will most likely travel overseas and when someone picks you out as an Australian in a foreign land, it will make you feel proud
• Then you return to Australia and realise how lucky we are with even the simply things of life - Fruit, Veg, Meat and the quality of sports telecasts compared to other countries.
• In today's story we see how the first four disciples were chosen (What were their names and what was their job before joining Jesus?)
• They saw the task of being chosen by Jesus as something special and they were proud to be asked
• I hope that you too feel proud to be a Jesus follower. One that does the right thing by others and is a good example for what it means to be a Christian.
• I am proud to be an Australian and I am proud to have been chosen by Jesus to be a priest in his church
• I also feel proud of each and everyone of you who come along most weeks and show you belong to a special Christian family called Saint Thomas' Anglican Family. - Well done.
