Jesus calms the storms
Today's selected readings:
Mark 4: 35 - 41

Kids Church Talk:
* Are things always peaceful around your home? (Discuss)
* What sorts of things could be done to make the place a little
more peaceful and how hard would they be to implement? (Discuss)
* Being scared is something that we all experience. Even when
we feel fairly safe with our Mum or Dad or special friend, sometimes
we still feel a little scared.
* This is also what happened to Jesus' special friends on day
on a boat when the wind came up.
* (Explain the erratic way the water blows up in that part of
the country and how high the waves were. It needs to be stressed
these were very dangerous experiences and the boat could easily
have toppled and they could have drowned)
* Even when Jesus was with the disciples, this storm still had
them frightened. They know Jesus could still the storm, but panicked
when he did nothing.
* I guess if it can happen to people when Jesus is present, it
is no wonder at times we too can be scared.
* Still we are lucky as Christians. We too can call on Jesus when
things are not going right, knowing he will help to calm the storm
(situation) for us.
* Having a friend like Jesus makes us very special people.
