Kid's Church talk: -

• How many of the Guides here this morning have leadershi responsibilities
• Maybe you would like to come and share with us what these tasks are and what you had to do to achieve this goal.
• Leadership is about encouraging others and taking responsibility
• People follow leaders when they can trust them
• Todays reading tells the story of the call of the original 12 Apostles or followers of Jesus.
• These people were so impressed with Jesus as a leader that they dropped tools and followed him in this new role of telling the good news about God.
• Let's look at who they were and what they did in later life (Talk about each Apostle and and show their emblems using an overhead or similar)
• Now let's see how well this has been remembered.
• Each of the guides are to come up here and act out one of the saints and our task as a congregation is to see if we can guess who they are depicting. (Reward if they get it right.

Kids Church Activity: - Guides Church Service in today's Family Service.
Today is a congregation activity. The younger children go out and decorate the emblems of the saints which are put onto a sheet of card for each child.

In the talk to make comparison with the way certain guides are called to leadership positions. Various guides to talk about these and what is expected of them. Explain how the organisation (Like Jesus) uses the gifts of people to "do unto others what they would like others to do unto them"
To explain who the 12 apostles were prior to their call with Jesus. Then to have various people become one of the disciples, and for the congregation to guess who they were. Charades. Kids to have a guess, and then the adults etc.
