Today's selected readings: - – Palm 63: 1-9

Kids Address

• I want you to imagine something. Let's think that we are out in the desert and it is very hot and dusty. No one is about, not even a shop in sight. You have been out in the sun for most of the day. What would be the first thing you would seek (Water)
• Do you know why we have water restrictions? Do you know what the current ones are as to what you are allowed to water or not (Discuss)
• Why do you think they call water "Liquid Gold" (Discuss)
• My dog Aussie the other day kept annoying me by pushing his nose into my leg and moving away. He kept doing this until I followed him. Guess where he took me?
• It was to his water bowl that was empty as I had forgotten to fill it from a day or so ago. When I did, he drank and drank and drank. I am sure Aussie thought he too was drinking liquid gold.
• Without water we would die.

• Today in the special reading we are reminded that a Christian we would shrivel up if we did not have the love of Jesus in our heart. We would just dry up.
• Aren't we lucky that we know God loves us, and that as a Christian we have a thirst for his love. (Comment)
• Like the love we get from Mum and Dad and those special cuddles, we thirst for their attention and love.
• A Christian thirsts for God in the same way.

Kids Church Activity:
To make a diorama stressing the value of water cf how we should value God. To design a desert scene with a well in the front with words “Our thirst for God never dries up”. Could be designed as a hanging.

What you need to get ready:
: Paper plates, cutouts of cactus on green paper affixed to card or on card to be self standing and slightly removed from paper plate to give a 3D effect, stapler, textas, brilliant yellow paper for sun, small stones to glue together to make a well, (Use fast drying craft glue) – If its cheap, it’s the wrong type), match sticks to make the props for the well bucket, cord and cutout bucket hanging from it, slogan to go across the bottom of the pitcher (rather around the bottom)
