Kids Address
• Have you ever undertaken a special task that has helped someone
who was in need?
• Doing good things for needy people can involve a wide range of
things (Discuss)
• These could include providing hot meals, food, petrol
• In fact "Anglicare", the caring arm of the Anglican
church, is one such organisation. It helps people in need in numerous
ways
• In today's reading we read about a wonderful women named Tabitha
(Do you remember what we read in the reading today? What sorts of things
did she do for others?
• Sadly she became sick and died.
• This would have shattered those who depended on her assistance.
• You see, sometimes wonderful people who are always helping others
die. It is not that God has anything to do with this. After all he wouldn't
want a caring person to die.
• Fortunately in todays story, Peter heard about this problem.
• Do you know who people was? (Discuss)
• Peter came and brought Tabitha back to life. (May have been in
a coma or similar as we are not sure)
• But the important thing is that Peter asked God to intervene and
make it possible for Tabitha to be back with her family.
• Can you imagine how exciting the town would have been to have
this caring women back amongst them again.
• We are very lucky today to have so many people that help to heal
people. Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses etc
• These are people who have received from God, the gift of healing
• God provides for us all we need. Today we give thanks for all
medical people.
