• What is the best way you can show that you are a special boy or girl? - Behaviour
• When you are sad or unhappy or even grumpy, very people really want to know you. They don't enjoy being with you
• But if you can continue to change your ways and not be sulky, then this new image will impress people.
• Now Jesus was always in a good mood, but his death on the cross was something that made people who loved him very sad.
• Jesus also wanted people to know that when you die, and you have lived your life as a Christian (explain), then there is a better place you go to.
• So when Jesus came back to life, he showed that there was another place Christians go to and that death is not the end.
• Of course, Jesus is the only person who had the power to come back to life here on earth.
• But by doing this, he showed us all things are possible for God (His Father) and that Christians who die, are taken direct to heaven to be with God, their Christian friends and family. Even their pets who have died.
• The egg reminds us of our life on earth and when we break the egg, it reminds us that after death we break free to be with God.
• Jesus broke free of the tomb, and eventually went back to Heaven to be with his Father - God
• When we die as Christians, we too will go to the same place that Jesus went to.

Kids Church Activity:

To make a chocolate tomb with stone rolled aside. Place the egg on the wagon wheel chocolate biscuit. Cut end of egg with a hot knife to create the stone. Place ajar so looks rolled aside. Place a few sweets in front of cave to suggest flowers.

Wagon wheel biscuits, chocolate egg, small sweets like smarties spread around and inside tomb, lolly tree or similar to go next to tomb
