Breast Cancer Support

Reading - Philippians 4: 4-9

4Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.
6Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
8And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.

• What happens when you are sick? (Discuss)
• Normally Mum or Dad will look after you and give you various medicines and lots of TLC
• Sometimes this means you need to go to the doctor and some times it may mean the hospital.
• What could cause you to have to go to the hospital? (Discuss)
• Today we are wanting to be a special support to those who have had or do have cancer
• How people get cancer is hard to know, but at least the doctors have found special treatments that can help our loved one(s) get better.
• One of the symbols for breast cancer day is the pink lady, and you will be making one of these to bring into the service later on as your way of being a support.
• You may even know of someone who has cancer, and you can add their name to your special "Pink Lady Candle"
• One of the best ways, as a kid, you can be a support to those with Breast cancer is to remember them in your prayers.
• When you return with your special efforts, we will offer a special prayer then.
