Kids Address
• Do you ever miss out on good things because you never get your
act together? (Discuss)
• While it is important to enjoy life as a kid, it is also important
to acknowledge there are times when we need to be more on the ball.
• If we keep dragging the chain, we will hold back other members
of the family from doing things together because they are always waiting
on you.
• Sometimes it could mean getting to where you are going only to
find all the tickets have been sold or there is no room left. Imagine
how annoyed your brothers or sisters would feel if this happened. Especially
if it was something you had all looked forward to.
• In todays story we read about a man who was first in line to get
into the pool, but was unable to get there by himself.
• What do you think others in the queue should do? (Discuss options
and especially that if they help, they would miss out)
• Jesus helps the man and he is healed. Just imagine his excitement.
• Sometimes we have to sacrifice what we want for the benefit of
others, and this is always a hard thing to do, but it is what Jesus would
want us to do from time to time at least. - Put others first.

Kids
Church Activity:
Various competitions to see who is first, and they win a prize. At the
end of the activities, all who have not won a prize receive something
because everyone is a winner who follows Jesus. Stress that the story
of the healing at the pool was the first person in won as they were healed.
We always need to be on the alert because we never know the day or the
hour Jesus will return.
