Today's selected readings: – Luke 10: 25-37 : The Good Samaritan

Kids Address

• Have you ever seen sad boys and girls in the playground at school?
• What about someone who has hurt themselves and are bleeding?
• Do you just ignore these kids and just go past them, watch them crying, and just say "Sook"?
• What do you think the correct thing would be to do? (Discuss) - Tell a teacher, try and comfort them, wet a handkerchief and bath the wound etc
• Do you think this is what Jesus would want us to do and why would this be so?
• In today's story we see a number of people who were of the same family (Jews) who just ignored the bashed man and did not want to get involved.
• Then it took a complete stranger to come along and offer help
• Who do you think would be the people Jesus was proud of. The Jews or the Samaritan (Explain the difference)
• LET'S NOW LOOK at a special video our older children have been making over the past 6 weeks as this will help us to understand the story better
• Remember, when you show concern when people are sad or hurt, you are being a "Good Samaritan"
• Today you are going to make scones and take them over the road to the Elderly peoples lodge
• It is very sad that many of the residents never get a visit from their family more than once or twice a year.
• Today you are going to show them a lot of love as you go to visit them and show them Christian love in action.
