FATHER'S DAY

Father's Day

Today's selected readings: – Matthew 8: 23 - 27

Kids Address

• What is special about your Dad? (Discuss)
• What about if you should go to a theme park like Dream World on the Gold Coast. Would it be more likely that your Mum or Dad would go with you on the scary rides? (Discuss)
• Of course with the jobs Dad have to do, to earn enough money for the family to enjoy the things they do (even if Mum works as well) it is often difficult to enjoy as much time with him as you might like.
• It maybe that your Dad no longer lives at home and this make it difficult to just go into another room and ask Dad a question. Still you have a phone at home so you can at least ring Dad up.
• The thing that really matters is that you make the best use of the time when you are with him.
• Tell him how you feel. That you love him. Don't think Dad's are too grown up to enjoy a kiss and a cuddle.
• Dad's have feelings too you know, and they need to be aware that they are loved by you.
• In the reading for today, Jesus is with his friends in a boat, and a great storm came up while he was asleep. As a result they all panicked.
• Don't you think that is amazing? Jesus was there and yet they still were scared.
• If things ever get scary for you, would you feel safe if you knew Dad was around? (Discuss)
• God knew that there would be times when you might be scared in life, so he designed things so Dad's would be about.
• Jesus himself had a special Dad while he was on earth (What was his name?)
• So like Jesus depended on having a loving Dad, we too need to know that Dad loves us and we him.
• Make sure you tell him that today.
