Kids Address

• Do you even have a bad hair day? (Discuss)
• Sometimes I wish I had never got out of bed, because everything just seemed to go wrong.
• One of the great things about being a friend of Jesus is that he always encourages us to make a fresh start when things like this happen.
• Today is the start of the churches new year. The church is always a little different about things like this. Do you know when 2005 starts for everyone else (Discuss)
• Today is called Advent Sunday. Advent means "Coming" - Who do you think is coming?
• The 4 weeks of Advent help us to focus on the coming of Jesus at Christmas time. You can see we are already preparing for Christmas with the displays being erected for the Christmas Lighting Festival (http://www.grassroots.com.au/werribee/Christmas/Christmas.htm)
•I am sure that Mum and Dad go to a lot of trouble when you have a birthday, preparing for the day.
• The same happens for Christians as they ready themselves for the birth of the Christ Child, and we celebrate His birthday
• It also means we have the chance to start afresh (Discuss)
• Today we are going to make an Advent calendar where you will open one window each day and this will help you look with anticipation to Christmas.
