“Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life ”

Today's selected readings: – John 14: 1-14

Kids Address

• Have you ever been in a maze? (Discuss)
• There are so many dead ends, and it would be helpful if only you had some-one with you who knew the way out.
• What about if you are going on holidays or even just trying to find a location in the middle of Melbourne city. How would you get to your location and what methods would you use to make it easier? (Discuss)
• Street signs, Maps, directions from people are some of the ways you would achieve your goal
• Tomorrow is Anzac Day, and in all of the battles that were fought, there was always a leader who gave orders ad directions for the other troops.
• Many of those battles were successful because of good leadership who helped show the way.
• In today's reading we think about the best way to be a Christian. One that believes in and follows the way Jesus would want us to follow.
• Jesus uses us to show the way for those who don't value Jesus like we do.
• We are able to show other people that if they live a good life and are fair towards others, we help show people the way to God.
• They see us as good examples to follow
• Jesus says He is the way, the truth and the life. So we are able to show others we love Jesus by the way we live our own lives.
• Being good and fair is not always easy, but it is what Jesus would want us to do.

Kids Church Activity:
To make large sign on self standing posts. Immediately before communion, kids put their signs down the aisle so people view them going up to communion.

What you need to get ready:
A4 sized card, textas, heavy duty staple gun and staples, thin dowel to be placed into pre drilled bases and signs jazzed up with coloured stickers, glitter or similar. Signs to read something like “This is the way to receive God’s special gift” “The way to understand God is to read his word in the bible”. “God gives me life” etc
