Kids Address

• Do you know what being picked on means? (Discuss)
• Sometimes kids do this because they are jealous. You may have more friends than them, or the teacher may seem to like you more than them.
• But being jealous of you is not the only way kids pick on you or make fun of you.
• Some times they will make fun of you because you go to church
• Have any of you experienced this (Discuss)
• Today is a very complicated bible reading. But what it is saying is this. Jesus is very proud of you when you stick up for him.
• We do that when we tell our friends we enjoy coming to church because we do this and that (Mention some of the exciting things your parish does)
• If other kids make fun of you, then you just say, "I don't care what you say. I enjoy being with my church friends"
• Jesus beams all over when you stick up for him and his family here
• Today we are going to think about some of the exciting things we have done over the past 12 months. This will be a good reminder so we can tell other kids what a great time we have here at Saint Thomas'

Kids Church Activity:
To stress how Jesus is happy with us when we stick up for him (Blessed are you when you are persecuted because you go to church etc). Make scenes on paper plate (Cut out “V” sections) where parish photos of the exciting events are placed – Pet Sunday, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Service of memories etc. Events that make us proud to be part of Jesus’ family.

What you need to get ready:
Paper plates, split pins, slogan on from “God is pleased when we stick up for Him”, scissors, textas, glue, photos of exciting parish events
