Kid's Church talk: -
- Have you ever seen a magician? (Discuss)
- The best magician I know is a mum. She can make things happen. Especially
if friends suddenly arrive for a meal
- Mum seems able to do impossible things with making that same meal
stretch out to 1, 2 3 etc more places. with plenty of dirty plates left
over.
- After all, have you ever known a time when Mum did not make sure you
had enough to eat?
- In today's story, Jesus was a little like that as well.
- He was very sorry for those who had come a long way to listen to him,
and many of them did not bring along any food
- Jesus does the impossible. From a small amount of fish (how many were
there?) and some bread(how many loaves were there?) he feeds over 10,000
people
- Can you imagine how far those fish and bread would go in feeding everyone
here in church
- The thing we learn from today is that Jesus cares for people and we
too should be like that.
- One of the ways you could show you are like Jesus might be: if someone
at school forgets their lunch - you could share it with them.
- Today we are going to make something special for morning tea to help
remind us of today's story.

Kids Church Activity:
To use the palm series for gospel convert to overheads and narrate
story. Todays point is that Jesus responded to a need because he
was concerned for the people. To tell children nothing has been brought
for morning tea and what would Jesus have done. Children then make scones,
sandwiches (tuna), Tuna grills and biscuits using fish & bread designed
cutters. For younger children to have some of these pre cooked for them
to ice and add sprinkles.
