Jesus sends out the 70

Today's selected reading: Luke 10: 1-12

Kids Address
• Today we heard our young people say "They wanted to accept Jesus in their life" and that they believed they would be blessed and strengthened when they receive the blessed sacrament each week.
• We are proud of them today for making this step.
• But just saying the words is the easy part because as Jesus says in today's reading "I am going to send you out into a world that doesn't want to hear about my good news".
• It is hard to believe that there are people in the world who don't want to know about Jesus. People who will make fun of him and also those who want to tell them about him.
• Have you ever had fun poked at you when you wanted to share some exciting news with others? (Discuss).
• Today, a number of our young people have made a very mature and adult like step in their life.
• They have said in front of us they are proud to be a friend of Jesus, and that they will share this good news with others.
• Jesus also says in the reading "the harvest is plenty but the workers are few"
• This means the love for Jesus we have stored up inside needs to be shared with our friends.
• Yes, the workers for Jesus may fe few, but you have said today you want to be one.
• We congratulate you and ask that you tell others when you get the chance that Jesus is your friend
• Further more, that you will invite them to come and share with us one sunday morning and be a part of Kids Church activities.
• Jesus wants you to be one of his workers, and each week from now on, you will be able to receive his special help each time you receive the sacrament of the Holy Communion.

70 Bookmarks made with blessings on them for children to give to their family and friends. One for each of the 70 persons sent out.
